Some technical input onto it. I used 6 images to make this sort of panoramic view of the valley i modeled. All of it later combined in Adobe Photoshop CS3, no further work other than adding my logo.

New Header

Listening to: E.Z.Rollers - RS 2000

Took some time today to make a new header for the blog, and for once, i can say its one that really suits it. For the unadvised ones, the scene you see on the background of it is entirely made on 3D. Mountains, clouds, sun and ray lights, all "modeled" the easiest way possible...

How?

I used a software called Terragem.

It's really simple and easy to use one you figure out the "how to" of it. I managed to get a nice lanscape with just some few clicks. Still, the software itself is rather old, being the last build made in 2005. I wonder if anyone took the development of it ahead, but thats highly doubtful...

New Workmate!!!

Listening to: Art of Trance - Stealth

Hehe, i gotta a friend to help me with modeling the Kawasaki Project. But No introductions so far. I still gotta setup some things both with HER and here with the blog layout. Stay Tuned.

40ft and 20ft Dry Cargo Iso Containers

Listening to: TaQ - Era (Grand Blue Mix)

Had to give a complete overhaul for this model, the older one was really off-scale and undetailed for the amount of polies it had. Now, all its missing is some nasty texturing on 3ds, backing and making several textures for it. I hope i can implement these on 18wos the way i planed. It'll be really cool.

40ft and 20ft Reefer Iso Container

Listening to: Breaking Benjamin - Until The End

So these babies are almost done modeling wise, just that damn hose that needs to be added to the engine part on the back of they. I also got some nice logos from known freight brands to use as texture. I just need to pull the models on 3ds and map them. I hope 18wos uses large texture sizes...

40ft Reefer Iso Container

Listening to: Ian Van Dahl - Try

It's close to be finished, just missing some rose that goes attacked to that red plug on the cooling engine area. I'll have to model that on 3ds as it would be a pain to get done on Sketchup. After that i'll probably try to texture it a bit, but no promises, time is getting scarce day after day...

Hard Trucking

Listening to: RS3 - Glory Beach

A small change of pace... in the last days I've being playing the game "18 Wheels of Steel: American Long Haul". It's a quite interesting game, with a very simple concept. You work as a american trucker, delivering goods around USA, and the boarders of Canada and Mexico. Resorting to a simulation aspect, you have to obey traffic rules, signaling lane changes, respecting speed limits and so on. Aswell plan ahead where you will make your rest and refueling stops, or you can end up sleeping on the steering wheel and causing accidents xD.

One of the things that caugh my attention to this game is the fact that it's easily modabble. Heck, even during it's intall the onw softwares create a folder named "mods" on your desktop. Allowing you to implement your own modifications to the game's content. Some other companies should follow this example for PC games content, many people would like this...

Anyway, nothing less to expect that i would attempt to make my own content for the game, so far i'm only working with the cargo aspect. Updating some older models i had i managed to create 2 cargo containers, a normal 40ft one and a cooled (reefer) 40ft one. Both still need some work, like cutting down some polys and better detailing of some parts, then the famous texturing part. For that i'll probably make some common textures from known companies...

3D - Kawasaki District - pt.04

Listening to: Daniel Bedingfield - James Dean (I Wanna Know) [Acoustic Version]

New detailed picture spot: Cosmo Gas Station.

This model came out really nice, i still have some bits that need further detailing, like the totem and the pumps. Soon i shall give it more updates...

3D - Kawasaki District - pt.03

Listening to: Andy Hunter - The Wonders of You

As you can see, the parking lot area is pretty much done, needs details that I'll be getting along the way. Now i need ideas to start filling up the other places. First I'll sort some stuff considering the position of the other shops, aswell some placemarks (gas station, convenience, bus stops, etc.)

Also, I'm getting some help ideas from my teachers at my 3d modeling course, which is a big plus, as have been a long while since the last time someone gave me some serious input on the modeling bits and doubts i have with this model.

Anyway, stay tuned for more updates on this...

Funky Dealer

I was bored running around youtube tonight and i came across some uploads with songs from games that i used to play. Pure nostalgia tiem. So far, my best from the night would be this one, from Jet Set Radio Future. A game from a time where games were actually cool and fun.

I'd hit it... I'd hit it hard...

Listening to: Yelle - A Cause Des Garçons

Man... i was quite displeased with the reembodiement of the dodge charger into a 4 door sedan... shame... a disgrace for the charger name. Not that the car is not good or anything. It's just that it's not a charger, at least to me...

Then i came to see this other day on one of the forums i visit...

For the moment i saw it, my impressions could only be expressed in a quote i saw from bash.org
BlkBlade393: would you hit it?
WordsLikeVenom: i'd hit it so hard, if you pulled me out you'd be the king of britain

Dodge... please... what a hell are you doing with our cars...

3D - Kawasaki District - pt.02

Listening to: Drist - The Scalpel

New Images from the ongoing project. Almost like an restart. What i did this time was to use Google Earth find a good reference point over the Kawasaki area in Japan, and then model a small section of roads from it. From there i'm now adding my custom made buildings, filling the area slowly. On these pictures you can see the Feroci PA plus some other stores, like a mini-mart, random buildings and possible a restaurant (not made yet).
