Dead Nature Render...

Now playing: Drist - Arterial Black

Day - Afternoon - Night

I'm not 100% sure if this was what they were expecting, but anyway, its made and done. I ended up runing into a few anoying problems with it... I'll probably make a better version of it later....

Kitchen Render

Where to start with this one...

Softimage failed one too many times with me... I lost count of how many errors i got on this scene that made the photons go haywire. So i exported the scene to 3D Studio max.

From there on, everything went great beside a minor but easily solvable problem (i lost some of the smoothing groups, but nothing that a smooth modifier couldn't solve). V-ray did it's part on the lightning, although some of it is not up to my taste....

Uncanny Valley

Listening to: 古代祐三 - Speed Fanatic

My face finished on xsi. Not perfect but enough to keep me happy so far...

Initial D: Arcade Stage 5

Listening to: Virt - Dark Tower

The only reason i'm posting this up is because of the last part of the video, at 0:32s of it, the game kicks in a nice manga effect shader. Making it looking surprising fun to look at. I wonder how did they made that effect.

Resuming our activities

Listening to: BOOM BOOM SATELLITES - Scatterin' Monkey

Man, if there's something that really piss me of, is my PC not working properly. Lots of small bugs that when grouped together are good enough to give me a headache. Anyway, the end of the year is closing and soon all bugs shall be watered away by a good old format c: a.k.a. fresh install.

Other anoying bit is how my isp conection is slow... i should give 'em one of those "heads up" calls soon.

But, till all that happen, some work has to be done on my 3d studies.

Been messing around with the living room model, added a few more details to it. 3ds now is being a petulant bitc* for refusing to properly render the wooden floor bump map. I still gotta figure out what is happening or make everything again from ground zero.

Other than this i might take some few projects back to the drawing board. No specifics will be given, i don't like people asking what I'll do next :P

EA, You Officially Ruined The “Need For Speed” Brand

Listening to: Pulse Ultra - Build Your Cages

I saw this review/rant over AutoGaming, and i agree with it completely, I couldn't have used better words to describe how disappointed with Electronic Arts I am now.

Need For Speed Undercover is out... man... i dunno if i laugh or cry...

Metacritic: PS3 - XB360 - PC

yup... seems to me that ea should start considering either hiring me, or listening to their nfs fans, either way, they will have to deal with me on that :P

now... if Rockstar releases Midnight Club LA to pc...

Living Room Model II

Listening to: Altima - Moonlite Embrace [Nocturne Mix]

day time elapse test

Listening to: Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Get Over You

This is a simple exercise I've been doing for my 3d modeling class, its supposed to represent the day hours and how the sun and shadows are affected by the time elapse. Foremost, i rendered the sun on on the same position, just changing its angle to represent the day hours. I also changed the light emission during the elapse, to better represent the given hour on each scene.

day time : 09:00:00

day time: 12:00:00

day time: 16:00:00

day time: 17:00:00

It's not accurate, i will edit this within the right colors and angles as I further advance on my studies.

ISO Tank model 2

Listening to: Drist - Decontrol

Just a slightly different ISO tank model, this time for slightly dangerous chemicals. Unfortunately i couldn't find any good logo for chemical freight companies, so i had to use what i had at hand.

Slow moving...

Listening to: Matthew Sweet - Girlfriend

laziness? nah... things are going on, attention shifting, modelers block, you name it. The fact is that i didn't manage to make anything useful from the last days. A mixture of good and bad events (some of them REALLY GOOD), plus the release of Spore and Euro Truck Simulator UK version made work take a hike for a while...

Dunno when i'll be able to do something worth of being posted here... maybe next week...

This is the finished model of the ISO tank, a lot different from the original, that happens when you research things around too much :P. Anyway, i ought to make the rest as well

Spore DRM - pirating feels sweeter than it should be...

or as EA make it looks like. Gamers across the web are slamming down hard the DRM implemented on Spore. And honestly, to my opinion, they are doing it right. I'm for one that are seriously disappointed by the way EA is threating their costumers lately, and this DRM scheme was the nail on the coffin. 3 install? Seriously, my PC eat system installs for breakfest, so those would be gone in less time than you would expect.

The worse is having to deal with the techsupport after those 3 installs are gone. "Criminal until proven otherwise" so it seems... What is most outrageous is that the cracked game, without the DRM was avaiable for download over torrends a week prior it's release. So much for making piracy harder...

Anyway, EA lost a customer, cus i'm no longer buying games from a company who do not respect their costumers...

Beer Kegs Anyone?

Listening to: DJ Bazzelbean - Trance Mix 1

chemical iso tank for non dangerous products. Textured with the Miller beer livery...

...the inner drunk inside of me is feeling quite happy...

It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog...

Listening to: Sonic Animation - E-Ville

man... only if i had that Beetle's song now... anyway, took the day to model, and ended up correction lots of small mistake in addition of making new containers...

Now it's a total of 17 different models... all needing texturing... (i feel like crying all of sudden...). I just hope that most of them manage to make their way into 18wos or ETS...

Now i need to make some flatbed cargoes...

edit: Ugh, forgot to add a description...

left to right, per line:
1st - 20ft chemicals tank, 20ft dangerous chemicals tank, 20ft foodstuff tank
2nd - 10ft, 20ft and 40ft reefer containers
3rd - 10ft containers, dual doors, single door and roll-up door
4th - 20ft containers, dual doors, single door and roll-up door
5th - 40ft dual doors and single door container, 45ft dual door high cube container
6th - 20ft open top container, 30ft dual doors container

dual doors = doors at both ends
single door = door at only one end.
roll-up door = similar to a metallic garage door

TOYMAKER: "Raven" (MG Sazabi conversion)

Listening to: Deep Dish - Dub Shepherd

Spirit linked me to this. Way too awesome for not to be posted here. I gotta say, i envy these kind of people, such a impressive attention to detail to make these Gundam dioramas. I don't know who the guy is, but he got skillz.

More cargoes... 20ft chemical container

Listening to: Benny Benassi - Stop Go (B-Side Mix)

While i try to get things ingame, the modeling feeling kicked in again and i did another container type i saw on the web. It's a 20ft chemical cargo one. I don't have much info about it, so I'm not sure it it can carry liquid or gas materials... anyway, it's another one done, just needing texturing

20ft dry cargo containers. - Finished

Listening to: Drist - The Scalpel

this is going to be a heavy update...

After days working on it, i realized the containers were wrong on some details... had to remodel and re-texture them. These are the almost final models, specially texturing wise. Some details like warning stickers will be added later depending on the type of the cargo the container will be carrying, but so far, it can be considered that they are done.
