Zé's House

Listening to: M.O.V.E. - Bust the Future Wall (move into the rockin' beat)

Just a small modeling exercise i had to do for yesterday's class. We were given the task to model this house on Softimage XSI, and I can honestly say that it was the worst ordeal i had in months, plus, by the end of the class i was nowhere near finishing it.

Today i decided to redo the exercise... in Sketchup! :P It only took me about half hour to get to this basicaly, then i spent some time messing with the V-Ray plugin to get some nice sun shading renders.

I understand the "why" behind the exercise on class and I'm able to foresee where i can possibly use those techniques, but when it comes to architectural modeling, i think I'll stick with my actual tools...

Another piece of boredom done. Quite slicky imho. Sometimes, the simplest things are the better looking ones...

And another version of the S.T.L. 01 wallpaper, for people who likes a less graphic intensive image.

Living Room Model

Listening to: Art of Trance - Blue Owl

Some days back in the week it was assigned to at my post-graduation 3d modeling class that we modeled a living room. complete with furniture, decor and electronic devices. Then apply the correct lightning to the scene, shaders and in the end animate a camera showing it around.

It was a quite simple project, and somehow i didn't feel motivated to make it at the due time. As result, i ended up delivering a quite simple scene concerning only the asked objectives, with no care for details and design. I was quite frustrated with it to be honest.

So, during this free week we got from the course, i started making a new scene, giving the same amount of attention i give to any project that i develop. Since its quite a simple scene, i focused on the little details that will make it shine. Most of the modeling is done as you can see...

Personal branding...

Listening to: Linkin Park - 1stp Klosr

Long, and mean really long time ago, i started to make a sort of brand to represent myself and be imprinted/used over my works. Tedious nights and failed attempts leaded to many variations of it, but i was never happy...

But this is the ONE.

I really doubt that I'll make or go any direction differently from this one. It's previous version has been on use since '99, and with just a slightly update i got something that really pleased me...

Also, i made some semi-3d versions of it, for random use...

Feroci...

Listening to: Daft Punk - Aerodynamic

My buddy Endo took some pictures out of the GTA IV Feroci car, and i turned it into a slick wallpaper, but only for widescreens, didn't feel like making it for regular monitors this time... and before you ask, there's a connection between the ingame car, the Feroci Japan blog and the Feroci Racing Group on GTAForums.com, which kind of connection only some people know it, for the ones that don't know, sorry, but it wont be through me that you will end up knowing :P

S.T.L - Street Tuning Laboratory

Listening to: Deep Dish - Say Hello

Photobucket

S.T.L, Street Tuning Laboratory... Born with the sole purpose of hosting my 3d tuned models, this was the first "virtual tuning shop" I've developed. Within time, to me at least, it became one of my strongest brands, even overshadowing some brands that I've create prior and after it. S.T.L stands for competence in tuning, quality craftsmanship and creative design. S.T.L stands for my belief that every car can be tuned, disregard of model, brand or type. That every vehicle has potential to become a fine machine when threated by the right hands with the right minds behind them.

And more important, S.T.L stands for my style, disregarding any established rules, making the things my way :P

JNC and grandJDM: The Merge

After being shut down by a coward hacker attack, GrandJDM, one of my favorite oldschool jdm blogs, will join forces with Japanese Nostalgic Car. Nice! Now i'll have twice the info on a single place.

And for the hackers, seriously, get a life...
